Siari’s Journey: From Street to Sanctuary

Written by Sam Thomas

When compassion meets courage, lives are transformed. This is the story of Siari, a cat whose resilience reminds us why animal welfare work matters so deeply.

A Call for Help

One winter’s day, our team received a call from an elderly grandmother. A cat was lying helpless on the street after being struck by a car. Without hesitation, we rushed to the scene.

There we found him: fragile, unable to move, and in urgent need of care. We scooped him up and carried him to the veterinary clinic, where X-rays revealed devastating injuries, broken legs and torn ligaments. The prognosis was grim. The vet explained that Siari might never walk again.

Hope Through Healing

Siari received the treatment he needed to ease his pain and give him a chance at recovery. For weeks, he remained at the clinic, confined so his injuries could begin to heal.

When it was safe to move him, one of our volunteers brought Siari home. She kept him in a carrier for a month to prevent further damage, offering him comfort and affection every day. Slowly, against the odds, Siari began to regain some mobility.

A Forever Home

Today, Siari can move around his new home. His future mobility remains uncertain, but what is clear is the love and safety he now enjoys. Disabled animals often struggle to find adopters, but Siari has already found his sanctuary with our wonderful volunteer.

He may never walk as he once did, but he walks a new path: one filled with kindness, patience, and the promise of lifelong care.
