Ukraine Pet Aid Project

Helping animals in Ukraine survive the crisis

Right now thousands of animals in Ukraine are facing hunger, injury and exposure. We are work with network of local partners organisations and volunteers to deliver sterilisation clinics, emergency veterinary care and local food distribution to not only save lives today, but reduce suffering tomorrow.

In 2024 we delivered

81,900 kg of pet food

1,471 sterilisations, vaccinations, and microchips

105 veterinary treatments

3 shelter repairs

Our focus in Ukraine

Sterilisation clinics

Mass, high-volume sterilisation is central to humane population control in a crisis settings. Working with experienced veterinary teams, we organise and fund multi-day clinic missions aimed at villages, towns and shelter populations where the impact is greatest. These clinics cut future suffering, reduce disease and ease pressure on overstretched shelters.

Shelter repairs & emergency veterinary care

We fund repairs of damaged shelters so rescued animals have safe, dry places to recover. We also fund the building of small houses where homeless animals can rest and shelter from the weather.

Emergency veterinary care — from wound treatment to lifesaving surgery — is provided through trusted local clinics and partners. These practical interventions make immediate, measurable differences in animals’ lives.

Food distribution

Food aid is a vital emergency response: it keeps animals alive and gives them the strength to recover. We use local supply chains and established volunteer networks so food gets to animals quickly and supports the local economy at the same time. Our in-country partners and volunteers coordinate distribution to reach street animals and shelters.

How you could help

£12 could buy a month’s worth of locally-sourced pet food — helping animals, as well as local suppliers and communities

£36 could help build a warm, weatherproof house for an animal — keeping them safe from rain, wind and cold

£28 could sterilise, vaccinate and microchip one cat or dog — giving them the chance of a healthier life and preventing future litters born into hardship

£15 could help fuel a van for rescues or food deliveries, helping injured or starving animals get the life-saving care they need

Where your support goes

Donations fund sterilisation clinics, emergency veterinary treatment, shelter repairs and locally-sourced food distribution. Every pound supports frontline teams and trusted partners delivering practical, measurable results on the ground.

Selecting locations and partners

Clinic locations and projects are chosen in collaboration with long-term, in-country partners who know where unsterilised animals and hungry strays are most concentrated. We prioritise places where a clinic or delivery has the greatest, most sustainable impact.

Emergency veterinary support

Funds cover urgent surgery, wound care and lifesaving treatment for injured and abandoned animals. Local vets and partner clinics deliver this care to animals who would otherwise receive none.

Food distribution and local procurement

Food is bought within Ukraine wherever possible—this speeds delivery, reduces costs and supports local suppliers as communities rebuild. Bulk orders and coordinated volunteer networks ensure food reaches street animals, small shelters and families.

Sterilisation, vaccination and microchipping

High-volume sterilisation campaigns reduce future suffering and pressure on shelters. Each campaign treats hundreds of animals, combining surgery, vaccination and microchipping to protect individuals and reduce population growth humanely.

Your gift can help to provide food, shelter, and medical care to dogs, cats and other animals in urgent need.
