Shelter repairs and emergency vet care

Written by Sam Thomas

Following our last update on the Ukraine Animal Aid Project, we’re pleased to share more about the work your support is making possible.

Supporting Shelters in Need

We continue to assist animal shelters where targeted help can make the greatest difference. One such partner is My Living Dogs, a respected, high-quality shelter in Odessa that our team has visited several times.

Like many shelters in Ukraine, they’re struggling to meet the growing demand for space and care due to the war. Repairs and expansions are long overdue, as they continue to rescue increasing numbers of dogs in need.

They’ve also begun building a veterinary clinic to provide care for both homeless animals and those already in the shelter. To help make this possible, we’ve provided an initial grant of €1,000, and we hope to offer further support as funds allow.

Emergency Veterinary Care

With the war ongoing, many animals are still being injured and urgently need treatment. Working with our trusted partner Zhanna, we’ve provided €2,000 to help cover emergency vet bills for stray and abandoned animals.

These funds are already being used to provide lifesaving surgeries, wound care, and medical support for animals caught in conflict zones.

How You Can Help

Your continued support makes all of this possible.

  • £28 can cover the cost of sterilising, vaccinating, and microchipping a cat or dog — preventing future suffering and giving them a better chance at a healthy life.

  • £36 could help build a warm, weatherproof houses for animals — keeping them safe from rain, wind and cold

Thank you for standing with us, and with the incredible people and animals of Ukraine.

Together, we’re helping them rebuild hope — one shelter, one clinic, and one life at a time.
