Update: Sterilisation Clinics and Urgent Food Aid in Ukraine

Written by Sam Thomas

As winter approaches, our teams and partners in Ukraine are working tirelessly to help animals survive the months ahead.

Sterilisations: Our Top Priority

Before the temperatures drop too low, we’re aiming to complete several more sterilisation clinics across Ukraine.

Each location has been carefully chosen by our trusted long-term partners, based on where unsterilised animals are most at risk. You can see where these clinics will take place on the map below.

These efforts are vital to reducing the number of unwanted animals born into hardship — and to easing the long-term suffering of animals already struggling to survive.

Food Aid: A Growing Need

Our Project Manager, Gregg, is currently being overwhelmed by requests for food for starving animals.

He’s now coordinating the delivery of:

  • 6,720 kg of dog food for the Odessa area

  • 3,700 kg of dog food for Kharkiv

Another large order is planned soon to help homeless animals survive the brutal Ukrainian winters — but only if we can secure enough funds.

Every bag of food we buy is sourced in Ukraine, supporting local suppliers and helping to rebuild the economy. This also keeps our costs lower, stretching every donation further, and feeding more animals in desperate need.

How You Can Help

Donations make a real, measurable difference.

  • £12 could buy a month’s worth of locally-sourced pet food — helping animals, as well as local suppliers and communities

  • £28 could sterilise, vaccinate and microchip one cat or dog — giving them the chance of a healthier life and preventing future litters born into hardship

Your kindness can mean the difference between life and death for animals facing freezing temperatures and hunger this winter.
